My wife, our baby and I stayed the last few days of December in the King Park hotel (see other review) before moving to the Best Western Kota Kinabalu Daya hotel. As many people are asking at various web-flora whether to stay in the King Park hotel or in the Best Western Kinabalu Daya hotel, based on personal experience my conclusion is clear: it is clearly a better choice. Whereas the room prices (incl. breakfast) are almost identical for a similar room type, the breakfast choice and quality in the Best Western are better, as is the location and atmosphere of the hotel.

A very good hotel to get familiar with Kota Kinabalu and Sabah. Clean simple rooms. A rich breakfast buffet (good introduction to local food!) with an excellent array of different oriental dishes and fruits. Toast and western also available. Friendly service! Our late checkout (5 p.m.) was generously permitted without extra charges. A highly recommendable hotel. Good value for your money!

The best about this hotel is its location. Across the street is Wisma Merdeka mall which you can find food court, pharmacy, money exchange, almost everything. 7-11 is right next door to find drink/snacks. Near by streets have lots of dining choices. A block away you will be at sea front, very nice sunset you can see there. Hyatt hotel is across the street too. Generally the area is pretty safe to walk around, even at night time.

Besides location, the room is good for the price, better than I expected. Room is not very big but the bathroom has a spacious shower room.

My partner and I stayed here for thee nights and it was perfect! The rooms were spacious and clean with very comfortable beds and the staff at the front desk couldn't do enough to please us. They were brilliant! The location is also perfect as everything is within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel as the price was very low. We had a very pleasant room on the 6th floor with a view over KK. The location is within easy walk of the pier, markets, restaurants etc. The front desk staffs were excellent and directed us to a very good driver/guide for the day. It doesn't have a pool and maybe is not suitable for an extended stay - but for the money, what more do benefit.
